I've been running since I was a child; inspired my dad who was pretty useful! One of my earliest memories is anchoring my primary school (Christ Church in Barnet) to win the Barnet schools' 4 x 1km cross country relay!
(I know it's 2 things) Shoes and shorts. You really don't need anything else, they are just nice to haves! I love the simplicity in running. If you are sensible (almost all the time) what you put in you get out.
keep it as simple as I can; pasta or porridge. The post race food is a lot more exciting!
14.53 for 5000m (5k) in 2017. 5k is the distance I've raced (and done parkruns for) most in my life and my one sub 15 minute time was the culmination of years of hard work. I'm almost back to that fitness now and I can't wait to beat it.
