About Me
Someone that likes to be busy and chase ambitious goals. I fill my day with working as a physio and fitting my running in around that and family life. Ambition wise, I still plan to run PB's over 800/1500m and 3km. As racing allows it would be great to finally run sub 3.40 for 1500m and if I can find a mile race, see if I can run sub 4 min for the mile. I might be a new V35 but still see myself as competitive at a senior level. I just get the added benefit now of being able to target some British age group records along the way too!!
Initially at the age of 14 I joined the local running club Tamar Trotters following winning a local fun run and trained 1-2x/week, I then went on to join the Royal Marines where I dabbled in different sports and distances for 8 years. It wasn't until I was getting ready to leave the military aged 25 that I started to run consistently and under the structure of a training programme and my coach Graeme Riley.
Quite the opposite, it is what I leave behind. Running is my time and my outlet, so I ensure I leave any stresses or worries at the door and just enjoy the running time. I do however never leave the watch behind so my coach can keep track of what I am doing.
Something light, my races are not that long so a sandwich or pasta will suffice, maybe some malt loaf too.
Running for England is certainly my highlight to date, though I always run for myself, having the honour of representing my country is certainly my proudest moment.
Family and travelling. Proud owner of a VW T4. We love to get away for adventures in Devon and Cornwall. The closer to the sea the better!
